Get Alice

Terms of service

Last updated 12 October 2026

These terms cover your use of the getalice.email website and the Alice apps you download from it. By using them, you agree to these terms.

The software is free software

Alice is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. The license gives you the right to run, study, share and change Alice. Where these terms and the license differ about the software, the license wins. Nothing here limits the rights the license gives you.

Using Alice

Alice is a tool that runs on your device and connects to accounts you control. You are responsible for:

  • having permission to use the email accounts, address books, calendars and AI services you connect;
  • following the terms of those services, including any limits or fees they charge, such as the cost of AI requests made with your API key;
  • what you send with Alice. Don’t use it to send spam, to harass anyone, or to break the law.

Third-party services

Alice works with services we don’t run, such as Gmail, Outlook, other mail providers, and AI providers like OpenAI and Anthropic. We aren’t responsible for those services, their availability, or how they handle your data. AI answers can be wrong; check a summary or draft before you rely on it or send it.

No warranty

Alice is provided “as is”, without any warranty, as described in sections 15 and 16 of the license. Email is important: keep backups of mail you can’t afford to lose, and remember that actions like archive, delete and send also take effect on your mail provider’s server.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the people who make Alice are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, messages or profits, arising from your use of the website or the software. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Name and logo

The license covers Alice’s code, not its name or flower logo. You’re welcome to use them to refer to Alice. If you distribute a changed version, please give it a different name and logo so people can tell the two apart.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website or download the software after a change means you accept the new terms.
